    The ship returned from Pakistan with double the cargo.

    The highly media publicized ship, the MV Yuan Fa Zhong is returning once again to the port from its regular shipment of goods, bringing some goods from Pakistan has arrived at the Chittagong Port Jetty again. The ship moored at the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) jetty on Tuesday afternoon. It entered with 811 TEUs container totally in the jetty area. Locals reported that the ship has reached the port with almost double the amount of goods this time compared to the first time.

    According to Chittagong Customs sources, in the announcement of IGM, the ship has the largest quantity of refined sugar. There are about 7,500 tons of sugar in 1,48,200 bags in 285 containers. 171 containers of dolomite, a raw material for making glass, have been imported. 138 containers of soda ash, a raw material for cement. Similarly, 46 containers of cloth, 18 containers of potatoes and 20 containers of sugarcane molasses have been imported by different importers.

    Anis Ud Daula, executive director of the ship’s local agent Regency Lines Limited, said that the ship imported almost double the amount of goods compared to the first time. Chittagong Port Secretary Md. Omar Farooq told our time that the ship from Karachi has arrived at the NCT port. The ship will leave the port with empty containers after unloading the imported goods at the yard.

    It carried 811 single container goods from the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, with 86 percent of the goods from Pakistan and 14 percent from the United Arab Emirates. The ship went to Karachi, Pakistan, carrying 113 containers from the United Arab Emirates, after which 698 more containers were loaded on the ship.

    The Panama-flagged MV Yuan Jiang Fa Zhong ship has arrived in Chittagong from Dubai via Karachi on the first trip on November 11.

    The ship discharged 370 TEU’s of cargo. Of those, 297 were brought from Karachi port in Pakistan and 73 containers have been brought from the United Arab Emirates. Containers during that time mostly contained raw materials for the textile industries, raw materials for the glass industry, car parts, paints, raw materials, and clothes. Onions were in 42 refrigerated (air-conditioned) containers while 14 containers contained potatoes. Apart from that, other things were fabrics, limestones, soda ash, onions, magnesium carbonate, dolomite. These items were imported by Akij Glass Factory of Bangladesh, Pacific Jeans, Square Pharmaceuticals, Nasir Glass, X Ceramics, Hafiz Corporation, and MR Trading.
