Diganta Das, a rickshaw puller, picked up a gold necklace weighing 5 and a half kilograms and returned it at Janata Bank junction in Kaliganj, Jhenaidah. The owner of the jewelery said that the market value of the gold jewelery is around 7 lakh taka.
Diganta Das picked up the gold necklace around 10:30 am on Sunday. After hearing the micking, he went to the real owner of the jewelry and returned the gold jewelry.
Digant Das said that Digant Das drives a rickshaw from dawn to dusk. Like every day on Sunday morning, when he took the rickshaw from the owner, he picked up a gold necklace at the intersection of Janata Bank in Jhenaidah Kaliganj town. He realized that the jewels would be worth a lot. That’s why he was looking for the rightful owner to return it. After hearing the micking, he went to the real owner and returned the jewelry.
Rashed Hossain, a resident of Singapore, said that he was going to a relative’s house in Jhenaidah town from Helai village of Kaliganj upazila with his wife and children. On the way, when he reached the Janata Bank intersection in Kaliganj city, the necklace weighing 5.5 kg fell off his wife’s neck unknowingly. After a while, Rashed started searching for the necklace. But it was not known exactly where it fell. After about an hour of miking in the city, Digant Kumar Das, a rickshaw puller, contacted her and returned the necklace.

Diganta Kumar Das, a rickshaw puller, said that he drives rickshaws on rent. His father is disabled and his mother is a housewife. He runs the family with the income from driving the rickshaw. He said, after returning the jewelry, the owner of the jewelry gifted me a mobile phone.
