The plight of hungry Gazans, the lives of 12,000 children at risk due to malnutrition

Palestinian children are the biggest victims of the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The number of child deaths due to lack of food is increasing due to the Israeli blockade. According to the UN World Health Organization, about 12,000 children under the age of five in Gaza are now suffering from severe malnutrition. And 99 Palestinians have died of starvation since the beginning of this year. 35 of them are children. UN human rights chief Falkar Turk has warned that the Israeli plan to completely occupy Gaza will cause more death and suffering and must be stopped immediately. In this situation, the Israeli Security Cabinet has approved the complete occupation of Gaza. Al Jazeera says that Israeli troops launched an attack on Gaza City on Friday (August 8) local time. Several people, including women and children, lost their lives. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed the matter in a statement. On the same day, Netanyahu’s forces ordered a new forced evacuation of Palestinians from parts of the Daraz and Tufa areas of Gaza City. In a post on social media, an Israeli army spokesman said that residents should move south towards Al-Mawasi to ensure their safety. The occupiers then claimed to have killed several Hamas members and destroyed several tunnel openings in the two areas. However, the Palestinian independence movement has not yet responded to this. Germany has suspended the export of military equipment to Israel after approving the plan to occupy Gaza City. The country’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Friday that the German government will not allow the export of any military equipment that could be used in the valley to Israel until further notice. In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel’s goal is not to occupy Gaza, but to free the valley from Hamas and create an opportunity to form a peaceful government there. Meanwhile, the Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, opposed the move to occupy the valley. He said, “Enough is enough. The people of Gaza do not want war. They do not want massacres, and they do not want genocide.” On the other hand, on Friday, former Hamas hostages and family members of those still held in captivity protested near the residence of the Israeli Defense Minister. They demanded that the war be stopped immediately in addition to the return of the hostages. Otherwise, the plan to annex Gaza will cause more unwanted deaths.
