The instructions Khaleda Zia gave to BNP leaders and activists
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has instructed the leaders and activists to work together for the success of the next national parliamentary elections. She gave these instructions while virtually attending the extended meeting of the party held at the LD Hall premises of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital on Thursday.
Khaleda Zia said, ‘Even though I am in the UK for medical treatment, I am always by your side. I believe that you will work together for the success of the next elections, inspired by the ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Do not do anything that will waste your struggle and sacrifice for so many days. We always need to remember the words of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, “The party is bigger than the individual, the country is bigger than the party.”
The BNP Chairperson said, ‘After a long 6 years, you have been able to come together again in a fascist-free Bangladesh. For that, I am grateful to Allah. I pay tribute to those who were martyred in the anti-fascist struggle and those who were martyred in the genocide due to the brutal and horrific repression of the fascist rulers in July-August. I express my deepest condolences to those who were injured.’
Calling on everyone to work for the country’s interest, Khaleda Zia said, ‘People from all walks of life in Bangladesh, especially the youth, are looking forward to a positive democratic change today. We have to forget our petty narrow-mindedness and work for the greater interest of the country and the nation.’
Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia said that the country’s enemies are still plotting, ‘The fascists’ allies and the enemies of Bangladesh are still engaged in a deep conspiracy to destroy the achievements made through the mass uprising. The conspiracy must be foiled by bringing the people together through steel-solid unity.’
