    The bus owner has been arrested.

    Police arrested the owner of the deadly bus, W. Bepari, in connection with the accident that killed six people when a bus hit them at the Dhaleshwari Toll Plaza in the Kuchiapara area of ​​the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. He was arrested from Shibchar in Madaripur at around 12:30 am on Saturday.

    Earlier, RAB and Highway Police arrested two people including bus driver Nurunnabi from Siddhirganj in Narayanganj on the night of December 27 (Friday).

    Additional DIG of Highway Police Dr. AKM Aktaruzzaman Basunia confirmed this news. He said, “The bus was taken out of the garage the day before the accident. But it was not fit. And the transport was being driven by a drunk driver with an expired license.”

    Moreover, the owner of the bus has also been made an accused in a case filed by the relatives of the deceased at Hasara Highway Police Station on Saturday. So, he was arrested, the police official said.

    It is worth mentioning here that the reckless passenger bus of Bepari Paribahan, in the early morning of last Friday (December 27), hit the private car, motorcycle and microbus that were standing at Dhaleshwari Toll Plaza of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway from behind. The bus was seized after the accident but the staff fled.

    However, a child on the motorcycle was killed on the spot. Four more of the eight injured in the incident died on the way to the hospital in Dhaka. Another person died later in the hospital.
