Today is the founding anniversary of Chhatra Dal.
Today, January 1st is the 46th founding anniversary of the nationalist Chhatra Dal. On this day in 1979, BNP founder former President Ziaur Rahman founded Chharta Dal. After facing various ups and downs, Chhatra Dal-an important associate organization of BNP-has been one of the biggest student organizations in the country. This organization played a leading role in every democratic movement and it became known as the vanguard of BNP.
BNPS student front Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib said, “Since its inception, Chhatra Dal has ensured mass liberation and the justified rights of ordinary students. The organisations are the flag-bearers of the homeland emancipation movement, the return-to-democracy movement including the July Revolution and one of the pioneers of the implementation of the production-oriented education system.”.
He expressed the commitment for the founding anniversary: “A new Bangladesh will be built by strengthening the sacrifices of martyrs of the past movements. For that, qualitative changes will be brought in student politics. The ones involved in terrorism and extortion will have no place in the Chhatra Dal. In every place, the leaderships will be given to the regular students, from grassroots to center”.
On the founding anniversary, Chhatra Dal carried out various programs. These include paying floral tributes to the tomb of martyred President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam at 11 am and offering Fateha seeking the salvation of his departed soul. Later on, a blood donation programme will be held at the Engineers Institution at 12 noon and a discussion meeting will be held at 2 pm.
BNP Acting Chairman and Nationalist Chhatra Dal organizational guardian Tarique Rahman will join the meeting as the virtual chief guest. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the special guest.
