RAB reveals the reason for the 7 murders on the ship.
Arrested Akash Mandal alias Irfan killed the master of the ship ‘MV Al Bakhera’ Golam Kibria out of anger over not receiving salary and allowances for a long time and mistreatment. Later, fearing that the other members on the ship might leak the matter, he tried to kill the remaining seven by slitting their throats and hacking them. Of these, seven people including the master died, but the ship’s helmsman Jewel survived.
However, before this murder, the accused Irfan mixed two sleeping pills with everyone’s food. After his arrest, RAB’s Legal and Media Branch Director Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous claimed that this information was revealed during the initial interrogation.
At a press conference in Comilla today, Wednesday, RAB-11 claimed that the master of the ship Golam Kibria did not pay any salary and allowances for a long 8 months, and even mistreated him. Out of anger, Akash Mandal alias Irfan killed everyone.
7 people were killed by giving them sleeping pills
According to the information given by Irfan, RAB further claimed that Irfan, who was selling the ship, had gone to a market in Pabna. From there, he bought 3 sheets of sleeping pills. And the Chinese axe with which everyone was hacked to death was already on the ship. The axe was kept for the safety of the ship.
RAB further said that Irfan first made everyone unconscious by giving them sleeping pills in their food. Then, wearing gloves, he hacked everyone to death with a Chinese axe. Then, after ensuring everyone’s death, he himself sailed the ship to the Haimchar area and escaped in another trawler.
RAB claimed that Irfan killed them too because others saw him while killing Master Golam Kibria.
The murdered persons are Master Golam Kibria, Greaser Sajibul Islam, Laskar Majedul Islam, Sheikh Sabuj, Aminur Munshi, Engine Driver Salauddin and Cook Rana Kazi. In addition, the injured person is Sukani Jewel.
