Teesta Master Plan to be finalized by end of this year: Environment Advisor
The interim government’s Water Resources and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that the Teesta Master Plan will be finalized by the end of this year. Field work has already been completed. She said these things while answering questions from journalists after landing at Nilphamari’s Syedpur Airport on Tuesday (July 15) morning. She said, “The Teesta Master Plan is basically a matter between China and Bangladesh; these two countries. As a result, the consent of both countries will be required for the decision. We have made a lot of progress in implementing the Teesta Master Plan in these few months. Discussions on the main five issues with experts will be finalized on July 17. After that, the proposal will first go to the government and later, if finalized through ERD, it will go to the Chinese authorities.
