Teenage housewife’s throat slit body recovered, husband arrested

Police have recovered the throat slit body of a teenage housewife from a rented house in Kuakata, Patuakhali. This tragic incident has spread extreme panic and tension in the area. After the incident, the deceased’s husband has been taken into police custody for questioning. This tragic incident took place at around 9 pm on Monday (January 5) in the Puran Para area of ​​Ward No. 3 of Kuakata Municipality.
It is learned that the name of the deceased housewife is Arifa Akhter (17). She is the daughter of A. Khalek Hawlader of Biorgati area of ​​Barisal district. Her husband Rifat (21) was known to have worked in a restaurant in Kuakata. According to police and local sources, Rifat and Arifa started living in a rented house in Kuakata about 4 months ago. According to neighbors, their married life was full of quarrels and disputes.
Local resident Bellal said that people around the house rushed to the spot after hearing the sound of crying at night. Later, Arifa Akhter was found lying in a bloody state inside the house. Another neighbor, Shahidul Islam, said, “I was sleeping in the house. Suddenly, I heard the sound of crying and came out. When I came, I saw the husband of the deceased sitting near the door and crying. As soon as I entered, I saw a horrific scene.” Later, the matter was immediately reported to the national emergency service 999 and the Mahipur police station quickly reached the spot and recovered the body. In this regard, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Mahipur police station, Mohabbat Khan, said, “After receiving a call on 999, the police went to the spot and recovered the body of a teenage girl. As the death was initially suspicious, the CID team was informed. Necessary legal action will be taken after the autopsy report comes.”
