After 24 days of treatment, Mahfuza Akhter, a teacher who was burned in the crash of a fighter jet while training at Milestone School and College in Diyabari, Uttara, in the capital, finally died. She died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Thursday (August 14) afternoon. Doctors said that 25 percent of her body was burned in the explosion. However, the risk of death increased due to the spread of infection in the wound. Despite the best efforts of the medical board, she finally died. Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed the matter and said that 25 percent of Mahfuza Akhter’s body was burned. 23 people are still undergoing treatment at the Burn Institute. In addition, 14 people have been discharged. On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed on the campus of Milestone School and College in the Diyabari area of Uttara. The death toll in the incident has risen to 35. Nearly a hundred people have been injured. Many of them are still undergoing treatment.
