Tarique Rahman’s message on returning to the country
BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is seriously ill and in critical condition in the hospital. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has commented that like any child, he has a strong desire to touch his mother’s affection during this crisis. He also said that the opportunity to decide to return to the country is not open to him right now and it is not under his sole control.
He said this in a post on his verified Facebook page today, Saturday (November 29) at around 8:45 am Bangladesh time. Tarique Rahman wrote in the post, ‘Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia is seriously ill and in critical condition in the hospital. Citizens from all walks of life, regardless of party affiliation, continue to pray sincerely for her recovery. The Chief Advisor has expressed his commitment to provide all possible medical assistance along with prayers for her recovery.
He also wrote, ‘As always, the medical teams at home and abroad continue to provide services with utmost sincerity along with their high level of professionalism. Friends, several countries have expressed their desire for all possible cooperation, including advanced medical treatment.
Requesting everyone to continue praying for Begum Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery, Tarique Rahman wrote, “On behalf of the Zia family, I express my sincere thanks and deep gratitude to everyone for their sincere prayers and love shown to the respected Begum Khaleda Zia.”
He further wrote, “Like any child, I have a strong desire to touch my mother’s affection in this crisis. But like everyone else, my sole decision-making power is not unlimited and is under my sole control. “There is limited space to elaborate on this sensitive matter.” At the end of the post, Tarique Rahman wrote, “Our family is hopeful that as soon as this political reality reaches the expected level, my long anxious wait to return to the country will end.”
