Judge Ahsan of Noakhali Special Judge Court gave this verdict on Tuesday morning.
According to the court sources, on December 15, 2014, at 9 pm Bangladesh time, BNP Chairman Tarek Rahman made obscene remarks against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as Razakar, murderer, Pakbandhu in London and tried to destroy the sovereignty of the country by denying the independence of Bangladesh.
Protesting his statement, on February 27, 2015, District Jubo League convener Ekramul Haque Biplab filed a sedition case against Tariq Rahman in Senior Judicial Magistrate No. 3 Amali Court.
Later, the investigating officer of the case, Deputy Inspector (SI) Sikdar of Begumganj Model Police Station. Saiful Islam and SI Jasim Uddin after the investigation on September 17, 2017 filed a charge sheet accusing Tariq Rahman in the court.
On Monday, four witnesses testified in this case, and they gave statements to the court that they knew nothing about the incident. Later, the court fixed the hearing of the case today. This morning, the court acquitted Tariq Rahman from the case after the hearing of the lawyers of both sides, as no specific allegations of the complainant were proved.
