Tanker-truck collision causes gas cylinder explosion in India

A truck hit a gas cylinder tanker on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway in India. Police said the tanker was stationary. Suddenly a truck came from behind and hit it. As a result, the tanker caught fire in an instant. A huge explosion followed.
On Tuesday night (October 7), a truck loaded with LPG cylinders caught fire, creating a panic in the Sanwara area. Seven cars on the national highway were completely burnt down due to the successive explosions. The sound of the explosion could be heard from a few kilometers away. The flames could be seen from about 10 kilometers away.
Jaipur IG Rahul Prakash said that two to three people, including the driver of the tanker, were injured in the incident.
Local residents said that the sound of the explosion was heard from a long distance. Several pictures and videos of the incident have gone viral on social media.
Police said that the cylinder-laden truck and its driver, who were parked in the wrong place on the national highway, and its driver had gone to have food at a roadside shop. At that time, a truck hit them from behind. The collision caused the truck to catch fire. It quickly became a disaster. Due to the presence of cylinders in the truck, there was a series of explosions. Seven nearby vehicles caught fire. Police and fire service quickly reached the spot after receiving information. The highway was closed. Three people, including the truck driver, were injured in the fire. They have been admitted to the hospital.
Jaipur’s Chief Medical Officer Ravi Shekhawat said that according to initial information, the driver of the accident vehicle has been taken to a nearby hospital for first aid.
