Sylhet’s Alia Madrasa field is full to the brim

Party leaders and activists have started joining BNP’s first election rally in small groups at Alia Madrasa field in Sylhet city. The rally venue is already full to the brim. Party chairman Tarique Rahman will address the first election rally at around 11 am today, Thursday (January 22).
Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists have been gathering at Alia Madrasa field since early this morning on the occasion of the rally. They joined the rally venue in small groups from different areas of the city since the morning. Earlier, it was learned that many leaders and activists have been sleeping on a tarpaulin on one side of Alia Madrasa field since Wednesday night.
At the rally venue, BNP leaders and activists were seen coming to the rally venue wearing shirts of the same color as ears of rice, shirts with the picture of party chairman Tarique Rahman, party banners, festoons and pictures of party leaders from different districts of Sylhet.
Sylhet District and Metropolitan and Sunamganj District BNP have organized this public meeting on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election. Party Chairman Tarique Rahman will address the first election public meeting of BNP on the occasion of the 13th National Parliament Election to be held on February 12.
Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury will preside over the program while party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be the special guest.
Earlier, Tarique Rahman arrived in Sylhet by plane at around 8 pm yesterday. Later, he visited the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shahparan (RA). Along with this, he also visited the grave of MAG Osmani, the commander-in-chief of the Liberation War, at the Dargah Graveyard of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA).
Later, he went to his in-laws’ house in Biraimpur village of Dakshin Surma Upazila on the outskirts of the city. He addressed the leaders and activists present there and the local residents. Earlier, a prayer meeting was held to seek forgiveness for the family members of the late BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Zubaida Rahman. After that, Tarique Rahman stayed at his in-laws’ house for some time and returned to the hotel adjacent to Sylhet Airport.
