Supervisor and helper killed in truck-bus collision in Feni
A bus supervisor and helper were killed in a truck-bus collision on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Hafizia area of Feni. The bus driver was seriously injured in the incident. The accident occurred at around 6:30 am today, Sunday (September 7). The deceased are bus supervisor Rabiul Islam (36) and another person, whose name and identity are not yet known. Rabiul is the son of Wazed Ali of Raghunathpur village of Santhia upazila of Pabna district. The injured bus driver is named Rafiq (60). Police and eyewitnesses said that a Shyamoli Paribahan bus was going from Chittagong to Dhaka at around 6:30 am today. On the way, the bus reached Lalpul Hafizia area of Feni when a truck suddenly stopped on the road. At that time, the Shyamoli Paribahan bus hit the back of the truck hard. The bus supervisor was killed on the spot. The bus driver and helper were seriously injured. The injured were rescued and taken to Feni General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared the helper dead. The bus driver’s condition is critical and he has been sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahipal Highway Police Station Md. Harun Or Rashid said that a passenger bus hit the back of a parked truck. This resulted in casualties. The body of the deceased is at the hospital morgue. Efforts are underway to arrest the truck driver. The bus and truck involved in the accident have been removed from the road and traffic has been normalized.
