    Students protest against hanging posters of Chatra Dal in Dhaka University

    The students protested in the campus at night against the pasting of posters of Chhatra Dal on the halls and various walls of Dhaka University. From this protest late on Wednesday night, various slogans against student politics were raised on the campus.

    In view of the ‘Historical Revolution and Solidarity Day’ on November 7, Chhatra Dal pasted posters with pictures of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman on various walls including the halls of Dhaka University like other areas. There were various discussions on the social media Facebook for and against the matter throughout the day on Wednesday. Later in the night, the students protested.

    A group of students first gathered at the gate of Vijay Ekatar hall of the university around 9:30 on Wednesday night. Various slogans were raised against student politics in the campus. On hearing the news, Hall Principal Sam Ali Reza came to the spot and tried to convince the students. At one point, the students gathered there with a procession from the nearby hall. The procession of students went to TSC’s Raju Bhaskar through various roads of the campus. Students returned to the hall around 12 pm.

    In the protest, the students chanted slogans like ‘Two zero to four, student politics no more’, ‘The address of student politics will not be on this campus’, ‘If you put posters on the wall, there is sadness on your forehead’, ‘Abu Sayeed is impressed, the war is not over’.

    Apart from this, the students protested against hanging posters of Chhatra Dal in Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall and Amar Ekushe of the university.

    Meanwhile, in a notification at night, the Martyr Sergeant Zahurul Haque hall administration of the university said that in order to maintain the overall beauty of the hall, no banners, festoons, posters or graffiti can be placed inside the hall or on the walls of the hall without the permission of the hall administration. If anyone violates this order, the authorities will take strict action as per the rules of the university and prevailing laws. Everyone’s cooperation is highly desirable in this regard.
