Action will be taken if polythene and plastic bags are found, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. She said this at the inauguration of the low-cost eco-friendly jute bag marketing program at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Sunday (August 31). The advisor said that from now on, regular market inspections will be conducted and there will be no exemptions. Action will be taken if polythene and plastic bags are found. Calling for increasing the scope of jute use to reduce the overall aggression of plastic pollution, Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin said that if those who used to make plastic bags make jute bags, then double the employment will be created in this sector. The government will stand by the producers to increase their competitiveness. The Commerce Advisor also said that the economy will be dynamic if the use of jute increases as an alternative to billions of dollars of imported plastic products. In the coming days, plastic bags will not be accepted in any way instead of jute bags.
