Storms with wind speeds of 60 km/h expected in 9 districts in the evening

The Meteorological Office is expecting storms with a speed of up to 60 kmph over 9 districts of the country. Along with this, the agency has also issued a warning that there may be rain with thunder. This information has been given in a warning issued for the country’s inland river ports till 6 pm on Saturday (August 23). The notification signed by Meteorologist Md. Toriful Newaz Kabir said that temporary gusty or squally winds with a speed of 45 to 60 kmph may blow from the south or southeast over Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar districts. Along with this, there may be rain or rain with thunder. Therefore, the river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1. Meanwhile, according to another notification from the Meteorological Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds are likely to occur in all parts of the country for the next few days. Moderate to heavy rain is also predicted at some places. In addition, the rainfall trend may increase across the country next week.
