Special meeting of the Advisory Council is underway

A special meeting of the Advisory Council is being held to give in-principle and final approval to the draft of the Referendum Ordinance 2025. The meeting began at 11 am today, Tuesday (November 25) under the chairmanship of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier, the Advisory Council approved the Referendum Act in its meeting on November 20. The government has decided to hold a referendum on the day of the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections to receive public opinion on the reform proposals recommended by the National Consensus Commission. A law will have to be formulated to hold this referendum. At that time, the government said that final approval would be given in the form of a Referendum Ordinance within a few working days. A special meeting of the Advisory Council is being held in this regard today.
