Special instructions for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka has issued new instructions regarding mandatory for Hajj and Umrah passengers. The instructions have been given in light of the new instructions of the Saudi Arabian government.
On Monday, Shahjalal Airport Executive Director Kamrul Islam wrote a letter to all airlines and airport-related parties in the country regarding the instructions.
The instructions state that this rule will be applicable to all those who are going to perform Umrah or Hajj to Saudi Arabia on a visit visa. They must get the meningitis vaccination at least 10 days before traveling to Saudi Arabia. The vaccination certificate must be carried with them during the trip.
It states that it is not mandatory for children under one year of age to get this vaccination. If someone has been vaccinated within the last three years, they will not have to get vaccinated again when entering Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, this rule will come into effect from February 10. For this, the Civil Aviation Department of Saudi Arabia has already issued instructions to all airlines in this regard. In addition to this vaccine, Umrah passengers from several countries have been urged to get vaccinated against coronavirus, influenza, yellow fever and polio.
In addition, Saudi Arabia has made polio vaccination mandatory for passengers from Pakistan, Nigeria and Afghanistan and yellow fever vaccination for passengers from Angola, Congo, Brazil and Nigeria.
Earlier, the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which has spread panic in neighboring countries including China, was also detected in Bangladesh. In this situation, the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport authorities issued special instructions on January 13 to control the virus.
