Sheikh Faisal Noman, Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque, has passed away
Sheikh Faisal Noman, Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, has passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un). With his death, the Muslim Ummah has lost a dedicated servant. The ‘Inside the Haramain’ website, based on the two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia, said in a post that his funeral was held at the Prophet’s Mosque after Fajr prayers today (December 23). Later, he was buried in the historic Jannatul Baqi cemetery in Medina.
Sheikh Faisal Noman had been serving as the Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque for a long time. His melodious call to prayer and deep religious devotion hold a special place in the hearts of millions of Muslims around the world.
Inside the Haramain, it is said that Sheikh Faisal Noman was appointed as the Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque in 1422 AH (2001 AD). He was fortunate to have this honorable position in his family. His grandfather was the Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque and his father was appointed to this position at the age of 14. Sheikh Faisal Noman served as the Muezzin at the Prophet’s Mosque for about 25 years, from 1422 AH to 1447 AH. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the Muslim community around the world.
