Shahidul Alam returns home, expresses gratitude to countrymen and government
Human rights activist and photographer Shahidul Alam has returned home after being released from Israeli prison. At this time, he thanked the countrymen and the government. He called on the world to continue the fight until Palestine is free.
He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 4:55 am today, Saturday (October 11).
Shahidul Alam said, Gaza is not yet liberated. The attack is still going on there. Our work is not finished. What happened to us is nothing compared to the torture being inflicted on the people of Gaza.
Earlier, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus expressed gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for helping in Shahidul Alam’s release and safe return.
Following the detention of Shahidul Alam by Israeli authorities, Bangladesh embassies in Jordan, Egypt and Turkey were instructed to contact the relevant foreign ministries and take immediate diplomatic measures to secure his release.
Earlier, he arrived in Turkey from Tel Aviv. Early on Wednesday, the Israeli occupation forces abducted photographer Dr. Shahidul Alam along with all journalists, health workers and crew members of the ‘Consus’ ship.
