Shah Makhdoom’s manager doesn’t follow any rules
There seems to be no end to the allegations against Dilara Parveen, the manager of Rajshahi’s Shah Makhdum Airport. Multiple allegations, including abuse of power without regard for rules and regulations, corruption, partisanship, and housing trade, were filed against her at the end of last month. Airport employees have filed written complaints against her with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the relevant ministry. These include mistreatment and harassment of employees; demotion, temporary suspension, and transfer if she is not satisfied; running the office with people of her choice even though she is an appointed officer; and staying at one station for a long time in violation of service rules. A committee was formed to investigate these allegations, but they have not come to light. However, Dilara Parveen has denied these allegations and said that she is not involved in any irregularities.
CAA officials said that written complaints have been filed against several people, including the manager of Shah Makhdum Airport. An investigation into the allegations is underway.
In a written complaint to the Bebichok Chairman’s office, airport security officer Selina Akhter said that even though she is the chief security officer, she is not being allowed to perform her duties. She is being intimidated because her home is in Bogra. Manager Dilara Parveen has formed a syndicate in all areas with officers Anup Roy, Mahfizur Rahman and Nasir Ahmed. There is a rule to allocate houses for officials and employees. But even though the house was vacant, she (Selina) was advised not to allocate it and to live in a rented house. Later, after investigation, it was found that Dilara Parveen has illegally rented out government houses anonymously in exchange for money. Many people who are not airport staff are staying in these houses on rent. However, many airport officials are still not getting houses.
It is alleged that Manager Dilar Parveen used to keep all her subordinate employees close before August 5 because her in-laws’ home is in Gopalganj. Although there is a rule of transfer after 2 years, she has remained in her position for more than 6 years without any transfer as she is from Gopalganj. He has formed an irregularity-corruption syndicate with officers and employees recruited from among former Chhatra League leaders and members. The members of his syndicate take bribes of 20 to 25 percent from contractors engaged in every development project of Shah Makhdum. They also sell old equipment of the organization without tender and allow ordinary passengers to use the VIP lounge in exchange for money. Apart from this, old iron is sold secretly, irregularities in canteen allocation, and fish is stolen in the dark of night at their behest. The nominal Employee Welfare Association that exists is also being run by its manager Dilar Parveen and his favorites Mizanur Rahman and Mansur Alam.
Although there is a residential room arrangement for officers of Shah Makhdum Airport, there is mismanagement there. Instead of allocating houses according to seniority, they have rented houses to people of their choice. Even instead of providing houses to female officers, flattering employees are allowed to live in the houses rent-free. Currently, many officials are renting houses outside the airport, but most of the dormitories are occupied by outsiders. Again, bachelor residential rooms have been allocated as families on Dilara’s orders. Apart from this, she signs the attendance register instead of working regularly, and uses the airport’s operational vehicle for family work.
Several employees, who did not want to be named, said that Dilara Parveen has committed irregularities in various projects at the airport, looted large sums of money, stolen fuel oil, embezzled money by using fake bills and vouchers in the name of purchasing car repairs and stationery, and created bills and vouchers by signing bills in the name of meetings instead of holding any meetings or seminars. The truth of this can only be found through a proper investigation.
When asked about these matters by Dilara Parveen on her mobile phone, she said, “Many complaints have been made against me before. The authorities have not found any truth in them. I do not know anything about the new allegations. However, I am not involved in any irregularities.’
Bebichak Chairman Manjur Kabir Bhuiyan said that several complaints have been filed against the manager of Shah Makhdum Airport and others. An investigation committee was also formed in this regard. The complaints will be investigated again. There was trouble with the auction, there was some discrimination. The issues will be investigated.
