Sha Sufi Makhdum Ashraf Jahangir Simnani (RA)’s 639th Orsh-a- Ashrafia completed
The 639th annual Orsh-a-Ashrafia of spiritual saint and Sha Sufi Mahbubey Yazdani Ghausul Alam Awhaduddin Mir Syed Ashraf Jahangir Simnani (RA) has been held. The mahfil, held at the premises of the current Madrasa Ashrafia Hanafia Osmania Sunnia in Chittagong city, was organized by Anjuman-e-Ashrafia Charitable Trust Bangladesh. Muhammad Ali Hossain Sohag Ashrafi, Chairman of the Trust and Director (Finance) of PHP Family, was present as the chief guest at the event. Various spiritual programs started from Asr on the occasion of Orsha. The program included Khatme Quran, Khatme Gaushia, Khatme Khajegan, Fateha reading, Waz Mahfil, Dastarbandi ceremony and Tabarruk distribution. Eminent Ulama-Mashaykhs from different parts of the country including Chittagong attended the Mahfil and gave important advice and guidance. In this, 18 new Hafiz Quran were made to wear petals.
Speaking as a the chief guest at the program, Muhammad Ali Hossain Shohag Ashrafi said, I have seen the hard work of our Hafiz Quran students, they started in the morning and successfully achieved Dastarbandi at night. We congratulate them. We want you to pursue higher education after completing your madrasa. We have a madrasa in Ashulia, and after that, if you want, you can study at UITS (University of Information Technology and Science). May you become bright stars in the world of Sunnism by being educated in both worldly and hereafter education. Shohag Ashrafi said, we want to bring the teaching of all Ashrafi madrasas in the country to one standard. A committee has already been formed and several meetings have been held. InshaAllah, the same curriculum will be introduced across the country soon. We have decided to suspend the use of the name of those who do not follow this standard, but use the name ‘Ashrafi’.
He also said that we will start a large-scale development project in Ashrafia Hanafia Osmaniya Sunnia Madrasas during the dry season. My father Sufi Mizanur Rahman has already taken up a plan for a fund. We want to work with the support of our family, the community of scholars and the local people, keeping the goal of the next 50 years in mind. Shohag Ashrafi expressed optimism and said, through this series, it is not only our responsibility to develop spiritually, but also to stand by the disadvantaged people of the society. The Ashrafi platform will be a strong foundation to build the future of our children and awaken the spirit of faith.
The program was presided over by Allama Qazi Muin Uddin Ashrafi, Chittagong District President of Anjumane Ashrafia Charitable Trust. Former councilors Abul Hashem, Mohammad Rafiq Ashrafi, Maulana Jamiul Akhtar Ashrafi, Monirul Islam Ashrafi, Maulana Shafiul Haque Ashrafi, and others were also present. At the end of the mahfil, special prayers and supplications were offered for the peace, prosperity and unity of the country and the nation and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
