Seventh day of testimony in Hasina-Kamal case
The 7th day of testimony against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, including three others, has begun in the July-August crimes against humanity case. The testimony has begun at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 headed by Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder. Doctor Giasuddin of the forensic department of Rangpur Medical College is testifying. Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, who was an accused and turned into a public witness, is present in the tribunal. Earlier, 16 people have testified in this case. Among them, four people, including two doctors and a nurse, testified last Wednesday. At that time, the doctors presented the picture of the hospital in July-August. They reported obstacles in providing treatment. At that time, the witnesses, including Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Obaidul Quader, demanded justice from the police. On the other hand, the International Crimes Tribunal today ordered the sending of former Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain to prison on charges of disappearance and murder in Meherpur. And in the Shapla Chattar massacre case, former IGP Shahidul Haque and four others arrested have been allowed to be questioned for one day each. In addition, the tribunal has given time until October 26 to submit investigation reports against 11 people including Sheikh Hasina and Ziaul Ahsan in the disappearance case.
