The Diplomatic Security Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken additional security measures in the Indian Embassy area in Dhaka since Monday night.

According to sources in the Diplomatic Security Division, security measures have been beefed up at the Indian Embassy since Tuesday night compared to normal. Additional police personnel have been deployed in front of and around the Indian Embassy.
It is also known that as part of this security measure, check posts have been set up on the road leading to the Indian Embassy from Gulshan and Pragati Sarani areas. Although these check posts are also present during normal hours.
However, the responsible officer of the Diplomatic Security Department said that there is no special security threat in the embassy area or anything is feared. However, in view of the incident that took place in Agartala, security arrangements have been strengthened somewhat.
On the other hand, the heinous attack by a radical Hindutva organization on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, India, in violation of international law, has created widespread public anger in the country. Various organizations and the general public have protested against this attack in various parts of the country including Dhaka.
