Schoolboy dies in road accident in Damurhuda, Chuadanga

A schoolboy named Jihad tragically died in a road accident in Karpasdanga of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga. He died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment early this Monday (September 8). The deceased Jihad (16) is a class 10 student of Patachora Secondary School and son of Zahidul Islam of the same village. Eyewitnesses and relatives said that the accident took place on the Mujibnagar-Karpasdanga road at around 5:30 pm last Sunday in the Karpasdanga Council intersection area. At that time, while turning the corner, a speeding motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Jihad was thrown from the road and seriously injured. He suffered injuries to his head and various parts of his body. They further said that after the accident, locals rescued him and admitted him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. However, when his condition deteriorated, doctors sent him to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at night. Jihad later died there while undergoing treatment at around 5 am today. Damurhuda Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayun Kabir said that no complaint has been received in the incident so far. However, he said that if a case of accidental death is filed, a case will be filed in Rajshahi.
