School office assistant hacked to death at noon

A government primary school office assistant named Harun R. Rashid (38) was hacked to death in broad daylight in Hemayetpur of Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district. The attack took place near Hemayetpur School in the upazila at around 12:30 noon today, Monday (February 16). Harun R. Rashid (38) is the son of Shahajan Ali of Clubpara in Hemayetpur village of Natipota union of the upazila. He is an office assistant at Hemayetpur Government Primary School.
The injured Harun R. Rashid said that he was doing office work at the school last Tuesday morning. When he went out to have breakfast, two men on a motorcycle suddenly attacked him. Before he could understand anything, he hacked him to death with a sharp weapon (chapati). When he screamed, local people and school teachers came forward. After that, the attackers fled on a motorcycle. Later, the teacher and locals rescued him and admitted him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. However, he claimed that he did not know anything about who carried out the attack. Damurhuda Model Police Station OC Sheikh Misbah Uddin confirmed the incident and said that two police teams are working to arrest the accused. However, an investigation is underway to uncover the real reason.
