Sarjis urges Ishraq to engage in ‘mature’ politics
Ishraq Hossain has made an emotional comment on NCP, NCP’s northern chief organizer Sarjis Alam has urged him to engage in ‘mature’ politics. He told reporters before the start of the NCP’s July march from Chittagong to Khagrachari on Monday (July 21) morning. He said that the Awami League is a banned party. The people of Bangladesh do not care about their hartal. Rather, what they are doing is a terrorist act. We believe that the law enforcement agencies will take appropriate action from their place. Sarjis said that if the political culture of Bangladesh is to be fixed, everyone must play their role from their place. Even if I don’t take it for the sake of argument that what Nasiruddin Patwari said in Cox’s Bazar was not as expected by many of our political figures, yesterday another BNP spokesperson Mr. Ishraq Hossain spoke about stripping some people naked, the way he spoke using some insults and some very low-quality words, this is a statement that is a step below Patwari’s statement. This NCP leader said, if we expect something good from someone, then we have to do better than that. If we expect something better by doing something worse than that, then it will not be good. We want a respectful relationship to be developed between every person in Bangladesh’s politics. For this, we will try our best to do everything we can. Ishraq Hossain said that in response to the statement that the NCP will be surrounded politically, he said, after listening to Ishraq Bhai’s statement yesterday, it seemed that he made this statement out of emotion. I did not see any political maturity in his statement. We hope to see Ishraq Hossain as we saw Ishraq Hossain in the anti-fascist fight. Such a statement is never expected from him. At that time, party member secretary Akhtar Hossain said that the information that NCP lacks will be provided within the time given by the Election Commission. He also said that NCP has no shortage on the registration issue.
