Salman-Anis-Palak-Shamser Mobin on 4-day remand
The court has granted four-day remand to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s advisor Salman F Rahman, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and former Trinamool BNP president Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury in the capital’s Jatrabari Police Station murder case, which is centered on the anti-discrimination movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate G.M. Farhan Ishtiaq issued the remand order after the hearing on Monday.
Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Md. Nazmul Hasan, the investigation officer of the case, applied for a 10-day remand for each of them. They were produced in court during the hearing today.
State Public Prosecutor Omar Faruk Faruki conducted the hearing in favor of the remand. The lawyers for the accused filed a bail application seeking cancellation of the remand. After the hearing, the court granted four-day remand for each of them.
According to the case, Parbej Mia participated in the anti-discrimination movement in the capital’s Jatrabari area on August 5. In the afternoon, he was injured in the shots fired by the accused and went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After a while, the doctor declared him dead.
Kanish Fatema, the mother of the deceased, filed a case with the capital’s Jatrabari Police Station on October 29 in this incident.
