    Salahuddin Noman is the new Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations

    The government has appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury as the new Permanent Representative of Bangladesh at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. He will succeed Mohammad Abdul Muhith there.

    On Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an order appointing Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury to New York.

    BCS (Foreign Cadre) 17th batch officer Salahuddin Noman is serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal from November 11, 2020. He was the Deputy High Commissioner at the Bangladesh Mission in Delhi from 2014-2017. Besides, this diplomat served in various positions in Bangladesh Mission in Islamabad and New York.

    Salahuddin Noman has held various positions in Administration, External Publicity, Multilateral Economy, Politics, United Nations, Southeast Asia and Foreign Service Academy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

    On October 1, the Administration Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an office order, instructed Mohammad Abdul Muhith, the Permanent Representative of Bangladesh in New York, to leave his current duties and return to the headquarters in Dhaka “without delay”. BCS (Foreign Cadre) 11th batch officer Mohammad Abdul Muhith is scheduled to go on post-retirement leave on December 31.
