Safe haven has been arranged for Bangladeshis in Lebanon: State Minister for Foreign Affairs

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam Rinku said that many people have been killed in the recent Israeli attack in Lebanon. Among them is a woman named Deepali Khatun from our country. This is very sad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already contacted Deepali’s sister and her family.
He said this at a meeting with the general Hindu community at his house in Lashkardia village of Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Saturday (April 11) evening. He said that there is a war situation in Lebanon now. Due to this, our flight is not in a convenient condition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our Lebanese mission are working to quickly bring her body back to the country.
Shama Obaid said that the deceased Deepali is the daughter of Charbhadrasan in my native district Faridpur. I pray for the forgiveness of her soul. May Allah Almighty give her family the strength to bear this grief. He said, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the government are trying to ensure the safety of the expatriates in the Middle East. We are trying to evacuate them to safe places. We have arranged safe shelter for many.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said, arrangements are being made to bring back those who are unable to return home due to lack of security. We have already brought back some Bangladeshis on chartered flights. We are making arrangements for those who want to come.
He said, it is very unfortunate that so far 8 people, including women, have been killed in different countries. The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Md.
