Russia alleges NATO is preparing for war

Referring to NATO’s 2025 activity report, she said that the role of the alliance in increasing global tensions has become clear. Zakharova said that NATO’s potential military spending in 2025 could be about $1.64 trillion, which is about 62 percent of the combined global military spending of the 32 member countries. She questioned why Russia is being portrayed as a threat despite such huge spending.
The Russian official claimed that more than 120 military exercises were held under NATO last year. In addition, member countries conducted more than 700 training activities separately. She also noted that the participation of partner countries in these exercises is increasing.
She alleged that these activities are practicing not only defensive, but also offensive tactics, which indicates the alliance’s “aggressive attitude”. Zakharova also rejected NATO’s identification of Russia as the main threat to the Euro-Atlantic region.
At the same time, she questioned NATO’s various allegations of airspace violations, sabotage and cyber attacks. Analysts believe that Russia’s statement will further increase NATO-Russia tensions.
