Rumin Farhana accepts nomination papers as independent candidate for Brahmanbaria-2 constituency

BNP Joint International Affairs Secretary Barrister Rumin Farhana has accepted the nomination papers for Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail, Ashuganj and Bijoynagar parts) constituency, which is expected by BNP alliance candidate Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Senior Vice President Maulana Junaid Al Habib.
On Tuesday (December 23), BNP central leaders announced the nominations for Brahmanbaria-2 constituency. There have been mixed reactions among the leaders and activists of Sarail and Ashuganj BNP’s associate organizations as BNP’s party nomination aspirants did not get the nominations. However, even though the upazila BNP leaders accepted the central decision, Rumin Farhana will contest as an independent candidate in this constituency.
Today, Wednesday (December 24), an activist named Ali Hossain collected the nomination papers on her behalf from the office of the Sarail Assistant Returning Officer. Sarail Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Assistant Returning Officer Md. Abubakar Sarkar confirmed the matter. The workers who came to take the nomination said that Rumin Farhana will contest as an independent candidate from this seat. Meanwhile, regarding the nomination of the alliance candidate, Sarail Upazila BNP President Anisul Islam Thakur said, ‘The party is bigger than the individual. We support the party’s decision and will accept the nomination decision.’ In this context, Sarail Upazila BNP General Secretary Advocate Nuruzzaman Laskar Topu said, ‘The party’s decision is the final decision.’
