Retired army member arrested with rifle-shock machine

The army has arrested a retired army member named Palash Mia with a country-made Ekonla rifle, shock machine and ramda in Shailkupa, Jhenaidah. He was arrested from Krittinagar village of Sarutia Union of the upazila early on Monday (July 7). The arrested Palash Mia is the son of Ziyarat Ali of that village. The army said that based on secret information, a raid was conducted in Krittinagar village under the leadership of Captain Ratul Tripura. During the raid, an Ekonla rifle, an electronic shock machine and a ramda were recovered from Palash’s house. He was arrested for this crime. Later, Palash Mia was handed over to Shailkupa police station along with the recovered weapons. The army said that there are several cases against Palash Mia, including one for murder.
