Recommendation to increase salaries of government employees by 5 percent
The Public Administration Reform Commission has recommended increasing the salaries of government employees by five percent every year. It has been said that it will be implemented by forming a permanent salary commission.
Today, Wednesday, the report submitted to the Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus was recommended by the head of the commission, Abdul Mueed Chowdhury.
The advisor’s press wing released the report. It said that the basic salary can be increased every year by analyzing the inflation and cost of living index provided by the Bangladesh Bank from the Ministry of Finance. However, it will not be more than 5 percent. For this, it has been recommended to form a permanent salary commission.
The Public Administration Reform Commission’s report has recommended providing all types of retirement benefits, including pension, to government employees who voluntarily leave after 15 years of service. In addition, it has been proposed to cancel the provision of compulsory retirement or sending them to OSD.
In addition, the Public Administration Reform Commission has recommended dividing the country into 4 provinces. It has also been recommended to make Comilla and Faridpur separate divisions. The commission also recommended the formation of a Greater City, Dhaka Capital City, comprising Dhaka and Narayanganj.
It has also been proposed to form three public service commissions, including a separate police unit for immigration, separating public services.
