Reasons why your throat becomes dry during fasting in Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan has begun. During the month of Ramadan, devout Muslims fast to please Allah. Due to the heat and diet, many people start to feel thirsty or their throats dry before noon. As a result, the body becomes tired. However, many do not know that this happens due to certain dietary habits.

According to health experts and doctors, let’s find out the reasons for repeated dry throats during fasting-

    1. Not drinking enough water during sehri. Abstaining from drinking at a certain time of the day already causes water deficiency in the body. As a result, the throat starts to dry.
    2. Eating excess salt. Eating excess salt with food during sehri can cause a dry throat. This is because the sodium chloride in salt helps our body retain water. As a result, if the body does not get any water for a long time, the throat starts to dry.
    3. Excessive physical exertion. As a result of excessive physical exertion, the water stored in the body comes out in the form of sweat, which can cause the throat to dry.
    4. This can happen if you eat dry food like crackers, toast, chips etc. in Sehri.
    5. Excessively sweet, spicy food, fried food or red meat makes our body dehydrated. As a result, our throat and mouth start getting dry.
