Rape of a woman on the pretext of her son’s bail, then…

A young man named Sajjad (28) has been arrested on charges of raping a 40-year-old woman in the capital’s Demra, on the pretext of releasing her son on bail. When he was produced in court on Monday (September 29) afternoon, the judge ordered him to be sent to jail.
Earlier, the victim filed a case against the accused Sajjad at the Demra police station last Sunday night. Later that night, he was arrested from the Demra police station area based on a secret tip-off.
The arrested Sajjad is the son of Shah Jalal of Dakshin Narandia village of Titas police station in Comilla.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the victim to the One Stop Crisis Center of Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital.
Confirming the matter, Demra police station OC Md. Mahmudur Rahman said that the victim is an employee of Matuail Medical Mother and Child Hospital. Sajjad is a relative of his sister’s in-laws. Meanwhile, accused Sajjad promised to get the woman out of jail as her son was in jail in a case. For this, he also demanded five lakh taka and often contacted the victim. At one point, on Sunday afternoon (September 28), Sajjad came to a rented house in Muslim Nagar when his daughter and daughter-in-law were not at home and raped the woman. However, after the rape, Sajjad left evidence in a corner of the house while leaving the house, the OC said.
