Rail traffic between North Bengal and the capital disrupted due to rail blockade in Sirajganj
Rabindra University students are protesting by blocking the railway line in Ullapara, Sirajganj, demanding the construction of a permanent campus. This has closed rail communication with the capital. Today, Wednesday (August 13), students took up position at the Ullapara rail gate at 9 am. Teachers, officials and employees also participated in the program in solidarity with them. The protesters said that even though 9 long years have passed since the establishment of the university, a permanent campus has not been built yet. As a result, students are deprived of quality teaching and various facilities. Earlier, the students held various programs including highway blockades demanding the construction of a permanent campus. At this time, the protesters also warned of more stringent programs if urgent steps are not taken to fulfill their demands.
