Rail communication with Sylhet across the country shut

The engine of the Kalni Express broke down in the Itakhola station area of ​​Madhabpur in Habiganj. As a result, rail communication with Sylhet across the country was shut down. The Dhaka-bound train suddenly broke down after reaching Itakhola in Madhabpur upazila on Thursday (November 27) afternoon.
Shayestaganj Railway Station Master Liton Dey said that the Kalni Express carrying about 1,000 passengers has derailed. A relief train has already left from Akhaura to deal with the situation. He also said that although the Sylhet-bound train has been temporarily suspended, there has been no disruption in the train schedule so far. Efforts are being made to repair or replace the engine as soon as possible so that the service can be normalized.
