After the first day of the two-day summit, the Indian Prime Minister and the Russian President went to the hotel in the same car to attend the bilateral meeting. Narendra Modi gave this information in a post on social media Facebook on Monday (September 1). In the post, the Indian Prime Minister wrote, ‘After the formalities of the SCO summit, President Putin and I are going to the venue together for the bilateral meeting. Conversations with him are always insightful.’ After Donald Trump imposed a 50 percent tariff on Indian products due to oil purchases from Russia, relations between Delhi and Washington are tense. In this environment, very cordial pictures of Indian and Russian leaders are emerging in China. The two-day SCO summit began in Tianjin, China on Monday. Several leaders were seen talking before the summit began. According to a report by NDTV, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were seen having a private conversation. All three were in a light-hearted mood. The Indian Prime Minister posted pictures on social media highlighting the friendly relations between the three leaders. In one post, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a picture with Putin and wrote, “It’s always a pleasure to meet him.” Other videos and pictures from the summit venue show Modi, Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping shaking hands and sharing a cordial moment. Modi also wrote, “Talks continue in Tianjin! Exchange of views with President Putin and President Xi at the SCO Summit.”
