PSC Office Assistant and Cleaner Arrested for Involvement in Question-Leaking.
Two employees of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) have been arrested for their role in a question-leaking scandal involving the Bangladesh Railway Sub-Assistant Engineer (Non-Cadre) recruitment exam. The arrested individuals, Abdul Azim, an office assistant in the PSC Science Branch, and Rupan Chandra Das, a cleaner, were apprehended in front of the PSC head office in Agargaon on Tuesday.
The arrests were made following an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). During the operation, the authorities seized two mobile phones, several PSC exam question papers, admit cards of candidates, bank checks, and cash from the suspects.
According to CID Special Superintendent of Police (Media) Azad Rahman, the Cyber Police Center of the CID uncovered that an organized group had been leaking questions and answer sheets for the Sub-Assistant Engineer (Non-Cadre) exam on July 5 in exchange for money. Initial interrogation revealed that the arrested duo had been involved in leaking questions for various exams, including the BCS and PSC recruitment exams, over the past years.
So far, 22 people have been arrested in connection with the question leakage case, and two individuals have surrendered to the court. The investigation into the ring’s activities is still ongoing.
The authorities are continuing their efforts to crack down on corruption and prevent further question leaks in the country’s recruitment processes.
