Protests erupt in Chile over Israeli attacks on Gaza
A massive protest has begun in the South American country of Chile to express solidarity with Palestine and protest the Israeli aggression on Gaza. Thousands of protesters gathered in the country’s capital, Santiago, on Saturday (September 6) to express solidarity with Palestine. At that time, they raised the Palestinian flag and chanted slogans in favor of the oppressed people of Gaza. They opposed Israeli atrocities. In addition to demanding an immediate end to the war in Gaza, the protesters were seen holding large anti-Semitic banners. Chile is home to the largest number of Palestinian immigrants after the Middle East. Many citizens of the South American country still identify themselves as Palestinian citizens, above and beyond their national identity. It is noteworthy that Palestinians began arriving in the country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
