Promise to waive agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000, launch Padma Barrage and Barendra Project – Tarique Rahman

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has promised to waive agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000 along with interest if he wins the 13th National Parliament election and comes to power. He made this promise at an election rally held at the historic Madrasa ground in Rajshahi on Thursday (January 29) afternoon.
At that time, Tarique Rahman said that no work has been done for the people of the country in the last 17 years. There has been massive corruption in the name of mega projects. The Barendra project started by Ziaur Rahman took on a bigger shape during Khaleda Zia’s rule, but the Barendra project is closed today. If he comes to power, he wants to launch this project, dig canals and dredge the Padma River.
He promised the people of the Padma banks to build a barrage on the Padma River; he commented that everyone would benefit from this. He also talked about building a cold storage for Rajshahi’s mangoes and creating employment. For this, Tarique Rahman called for the election of rice husk candidates in every constituency of the entire northern region. The BNP chairman also said, will the country go towards democracy or otherwise? The people of the country will have to take that decision on the 12th. If democracy cannot be maintained, then mega projects will not be people’s projects. The flag of democracy must be maintained at any cost. Tarique Rahman clearly said in his speech that BNP believes in peace and does not want to get into a fight. That is why I am not criticizing anyone. If I criticize anyone, will anyone benefit? Will my stomach be filled? If any undesirable incident happens anywhere, he called on the government to conduct a fair investigation. He also said that a proper investigation should be conducted according to the laws of the country and justice should be ensured.
