Private hospital raids in capital

The Directorate General of Health Services is conducting raids on private hospitals in the capital. This surveillance operation began at Muktijoddha Tower in the capital’s Mohammadpur area at 10 am today, Tuesday (March 24). The officials concerned said that action will be taken against the hospital authorities as various irregularities were found in the operation.
No doctor was found on duty at TG Hospital in the morning. Even the patients’ prescriptions did not have the doctor’s signature. However, 4 children are admitted in the hospital’s NICU, where the presence of a specialist doctor is mandatory.
It has been alleged that these patients were brought from government hospitals through brokers. In addition, the affected patients have expressed anger over the collection of additional bills and various mismanagement.
After Jamuna Television broadcast the news of an eighth-grade pass surgery performed by a fake doctor, Health Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain Bakul ordered the sealing of ‘Doctors Care Hospital and Diagnostics’ located at College Gate in Shyamoli, the capital, on Monday (March 23). At that time, he said, starting today, this campaign will continue in private clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centers.
