Prisoner dies in Dhaka Central Jail

A sick prisoner in Dhaka Central Jail has died, who was undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital. He was brought to DMCH Hospital at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday (December 2) and was declared dead by the doctors of the emergency department.
The deceased prisoner’s name is Abdul Matin (75). His father’s name is Mirza Ali. It is not yet known in which case or charge he was in prison. Regarding the incident, prison guard Mirza Harun said that Abdul Matin’s physical condition suddenly deteriorated at night. Then, on the orders of the prison authorities, some prison guards quickly took him to the hospital. After the examination, the doctors of the emergency department of DMCH Hospital declared him dead.
DMCH Hospital Police Camp In-charge Md. Faruk confirmed the death of prisoner Abdul Matin and said, quoting the doctor. The body will be handed over to the family after the formalities of the prison department are completed.
