Prince Mamun arrested again

The police have arrested the country’s well-known TikToker Prince Mamun alias Abdullah Al Mamun again. He was arrested at the capital’s Bhatara police station. Laila Akhter confirmed the matter. Laila said, “It is true that Mamun has been arrested. At the Bhatara police station. However, I am not sure in which case he was arrested. There are many cases going on against him.” Earlier, he was arrested in a rape case filed by Laila Akhter Farhad at the capital’s Cantonment police station in June last year. Then, the tribunal dismissed Laila Akhter’s case against Prince Mamun. Laila had accused Mamun of spreading false, misleading and defamatory information online under the Cyber Security Act. The order was announced in the court of Judge Nur-e-Alam of the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka on July 13. This information was confirmed to the media by the bench assistant of the tribunal concerned, Jewel Mia. He said that the Cyber Security Act has been repealed and a ‘Cyber Security Ordinance’ has been issued. The court dismissed the case application as the new ordinance does not contain a clause related to the allegations in this case.
