Possibility of international flights at Cox’s Bazar Airport from October

Partial international flights may start at Cox’s Bazar Airport in mid-October this year. On Sunday (August 17) afternoon, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Mustafa Mahmud Siddique told reporters about such a possibility after inspecting the progress of the work on the new terminal and runway of Cox’s Bazar Airport. He said, “Today, we inspected the progress of the work on the second terminal of the airport and the runway under construction on the seabed. It seems that it will be possible to operate international flights partially from Cox’s Bazar Airport by mid-October.” The CAA Chairman also said that although the work is not fully completed, it is partially ready for flight operations. He also said that this airport will play a major role not only in tourism but also in the economic development of the country. Cox’s Bazar will develop as an international destination. Airport Project Director Yunus Bhuiyan, Airport Manager Golam Murtaza Hasan and other concerned officials were also present at the time.
