Politicians are losing unity: Mirza Fakhrul

After the mass uprising of students and the public, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that ‘politicians are losing unity’.
He made this comment at the reception of SSC GPA-5 students organized by ‘Magazine University Tour’ at the Institution of Diploma Engineers in Kakrail in the capital on Monday (October 20) afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said that after such a big uprising, an opportunity has been created to make the country beautiful again. But when we see around us that our politicians are losing unity, many are leaving. We see the tone of disunity around us. Then many of us get disappointed.
After reciting poems by poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, the BNP Secretary General said, the future is calling you. Today, you who are entering youth, entering a new world, that world is calling you. Dr. Subar Khan said that you have to prepare yourself to compete with the world.
‘The world has become a world of competition, if you cannot survive, then you will be thrown out. You have to reach that place. Then you have to prepare yourself.’
The program was organized by the monthly magazine ‘Vishvabidyalaya Parikrama’ at the Muktijoddha Auditorium of Diploma Engineers Institute in Kakrail to welcome the students who secured GPA-5 in the SSC examination. Later, the chief guest BNP Secretary General handed over the crest and certificates to the students.
Mirza Fakhrul said, it is our misfortune that the education system of our country is not like this, but is very low quality. Politicians are responsible for this, we are responsible, our bureaucracy is responsible.
He said, very little importance is given to education here. We pass BA, pass MA from Chandpur village or from my village Thakurgaon… He wanders around and does not get a job because a BA pass or MA pass cannot be given a job. But if he had passed B.Sc or taken a diploma in electricity or civil engineering or other subjects from a polytechnic institute, no one could have stopped his job. This is the failure of politicians in this policy.
Mirza Fakhrul said, our sirs are protesting, they are on the streets for the salaries of teachers. If we had changed this completely and provided higher education only for the most talented students and provided vocational and technical training for the majority of our ordinary students, then we would have benefited the most.
Today there is no technical education system, no institutes. No vocational centers. We do not create these. We are creating BA passes, MF. So how will these youth develop?
He commented that emphasis should be placed on technical education for people to get employed.
Daffodil International University Chairman Md. Sabur Khan, BNP Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Kamruzzaman Ratan, University Tour Chief Editor Harun Or Rashid, educationist MA Sajjad, Jamirul Akhter, Diploma Engineers Institute Convener Kabir Hossain, Member Secretary Kazi Shawkat Hossain, Dhaka Metropolitan Association General Secretary Shahjahan Ahmed, etc. The discussion meeting held under the chairmanship of BNP Training Affairs Secretary Rasheda Begum Hira, was addressed by Munshiganj BNP member Mosharraf Hossain Pusti and other meritorious students.
