Political parties must be on the right track to assess the aspirations of the Nation: 36 July Celebration Council
July-August are an integral part of the 17-year movement against the fascist Hasina government. The successful outcome of the long movement is this spontaneous mass uprising in July. Therefore, to assess this unity of the nation and their hopes and aspirations correctly, the political parties of the country must be on the right track. The fundamental rights of the masses must be ensured. Only then will the July Revolution be successful and the souls of the martyrs will find peace. The invited guests delivered the above speeches at the political dialogue organized by the July 36 Celebration Council at the city’s Premier University auditorium on Tuesday afternoon, August 5.
The event was chaired by freedom fighter Ekramul Karim and moderated by Nurul Afsar Majumder Swapan, the district coordinator of Nagorik Oikya, one of the initiators of the Celebration Council. Chittagong City Mayor and prominent politician Dr. Shahadat Hossain, senior lawyer Badrul Anwar, district coordinator of mass mobilization Hasan Maruf Rumi, professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Chittagong University Atiqur Rahman, central joint chief organizer of NCP Emon Syed and president of Chittagong District Bar Association Advocate Enamul Haque. Cultural activists Dilshad Ahmed, Faisal Bin Nasir, Nurunnesa Munni, young poet Enayet Ullah, poet Kartu Sarkar, female leader Koli Kayes, Hurre Jannat Huran, Arafat Hossain also spoke at the event, capturing the spirit of the July Revolution.
Group dances were performed at the event by School of Oriental Dance, Ghungur Nrityakala Academy, Charuta Nrityakala Academy, Surangan Vidyapeeth, Swarlipi Sangskritik Forum, Nrityam Academy, Nataraj Academy. Solo music was performed by artist Md. Mustafa Kamal, Saifuddin Mahmud Khan, Iqbal Haider and Baul artist Dr. Hanif Baul.
